About Me.
I started in racial justice consulting quite by accident 3 years ago, when a public defender reached out to me to ask if I could help with one of the first RJA motions in the state. Since then I've been involved in many more cases and learned a great deal about the legal system and how to provide unique insight as an expert witness. I've seen that there is an enormous demand for these education in matters of race and racism as courts, attorneys, and law enforcement agencies attempt to implement the Racial Justice Act.

I have over 10 years of experience teaching and researching race and racism in the legal justice system, grounded in over 3 years of extensive, ground breaking social science research with hundreds of men in the San Francisco Jail system, as well as families on the outside, formerly incarcerated people, sheriff's deputies, lawyers, racial justice campaigners, and city and county government officials. My ethnography was the first in nearly 50 years to gain extensive access to the inside of a jail and one of the first to gain access to any kind of carceral facility. My work has been presented at conferences nationally and internationally and has won numerous awards, scholarships, and fellowships.
